Holman addresses the spectators. Pace speaks. Seq: Four T-41 tanks move in various directions on field in maneuverability demonstration. RV, two of them fire. Side view of T-41 after firing. Four T-48 tanks drive into the area.a T-48 shows its turning ability. LS, wrecker type truck being used to demonstrate gun tube change of T-48. LSs, T-47 tanks drive in area. T-47 turns in its own tracks. RV, it fires. Spectators in stands applaud. Seq: Two 280mm guns are moved by their transporters on road. View of one of the guns parked. RV, 280mm gun without transporters fires. Spectators remove their hands from their ears after the firing. VS, collins addresses the assemblage. VS, Pace, Collins and Holman inspect the 280mm Gun. Pace sights the gun. Pace chats with Lt Gen Willis D. Crittenberger, CG 1st Army. Pace and Collins chat with GIs on the 280mm gun's transporter. Other persons inspect the gun. Willis Dale Crittenberger (1890-1980) was born in Anderson, Indiana. After graduating from West Point in 1913, he commissioned in the cavalry. He graduated from Command and General Staff School in 1925 and the Army War College in 1930. He made brigadier general in July 1941 and major general in February 1942. Jonathan Lane Holman (b. Dec. 6, 1897, La Grange, Texas-d. April 3, 1975), U.S. Army officer, was commissioned in the cavalry from West Point in 1918 and served with the field artillery in France (1919-1921). He served as an instructor at West Point for five years in the early 1930s. During World War II, he was chief ordnance officer and chief of staff, Services of Supply, in the Southwest Pacific theater of operations.
